Henry Lowther
featuring Paul Clarvis
In a career lasting more than five decades, Henry Lowther has shown himself to be one of the most versatile performers in British jazz. In the 1960s he played with many of the ground-breaking groups of the period including bands led by Mike Westbrook, Graham Collier and John Dankworth. He went on to work with a “who's who” of jazz, including Kenny Wheeler, Mike Gibbs, Loose Tubes, John Surman, John Taylor and Stan Tracey. He played lead trumpet with both Gil Evans and George Russell.
Henry has also worked widely as a session musician, recording with Bing Crosby, George Harrison, Elton John, Henry Mancini, Paul McCartney, Van Morrison, Simon Rattle, Nelson Riddle and Talk Talk amongst many others.
